What is EVA foam?
These are foamed sheets made of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) that look and feel very much like suede. Due to its extremely smooth and delicate surface, it is also known as "plastic suede." This foamed sheet is made from easily processed EVA material. When heated, the material becomes soft and has good ductility, allowing it to be molded into various shapes. After cooling, the foamed sheet retains its original shape, making it popular in sewing and other fields.
Basic advantages of EVA foam:
Unique texture and decorative appeal: Some manufacturers produce EVA foam products with bright, vibrant colors and a comfortable feel.
Eco-friendly and safe: This material does not release any harmful compounds into the environment and is completely safe for humans and pets.
Rich colors: A wide variety of colors and shades are available to meet almost any material selection needs.
Affordable: Foam materials are relatively inexpensive, making them suitable for both beginners and experienced artists, and ideal for inspiring children's creativity.
Easy to process: Processing EVA foam material does not require expensive tools—only a heat gun is needed. In the initial stages, even without a heat gun, different types of adhesives can be used for bonding.
Moldability, the ability to maintain a specific shape: This advantage allows for the creation of almost any product. The only limitation lies in the maker's imagination.
Applications of the Material
Artificial Flower (Floral) Manufacturing: This is one of the main applications of foam materials. This material can be used to create brightly colored, versatile flowers such as orchids, lilies, hibiscus, roses, and various combination bouquets.
Wedding Accessories: Used to create brooches, corsages, hair clips, headbands, and more.
Interior Decoration: With it, you can create unique designs, transforming residential and commercial spaces to make them warm and chic.
Scrapbook Making Techniques: Foam materials can be used to decorate picture frames, albums, colored panels, gifts, and more. The rich colors and excellent moldability allow you to create unique designs that cannot be achieved with other materials.
When using foam materials, the correct thickness must be chosen. For floral arrangements and scrapbooks, use 2mm thick material. Thicker foam materials are used to make theatrical masks, crowns, special costumes, dolls, and frames for photographs and paintings.
