Advantage
During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, guided by industrial restructuring, the domestic polyvinyl
alcohol (PVA) industry embarked on a capacity reduction initiative. Currently, only eight enterprises in
the country retain their PVA production capacity, with a combined output of 1.096 million tons,
significantly enhancing the concentration of the industry. Among these, only Wanwei Hi-Tech is planning to
expand its production capacity. Additionally, Wanwei adheres to a low-carbon economic development path.
Its wholly-owned subsidiary, Guangxi Wanwei Biomass Technology Co., Ltd., utilizes the local abundance of
sugarcane resources to produce PVA, pioneering a third raw material route beyond the traditional calcium
carbide acetylene method and petroleum/natural gas ethylene method, laying a solid foundation for the
company's sustainable development. Furthermore, Wanwei's holding subsidiary, Mengwei Technology, leverages
the rich resources of coal, electricity, and calcium carbide in Inner Mongolia, along with the company's
comprehensive PVA production technology, to construct production facilities in phases, capable of annually
producing 200,000 tons of vinyl acetate and 100,000 tons of PVA. With an annual PVA output of 250,000
tons, accounting for more than 20% of the national total, Wanwei's product capacity leads the industry.
