KURARAY POVAL is the brand name of polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) manufactured by Kuraray Co., Ltd. of Japan. It is a white, granular, water-soluble synthetic resin with a wide range of applications.

KURARAY POVAL has several series:
The KURARAY POVAL K series combines excellent crosslinking properties and outstanding water solubility, suitable for papermaking, packaging, and fiber products;
The KURARAY POVAL R series is silane-modified polyvinyl alcohol, and its coating exhibits excellent adhesion to inorganic materials such as glass, aluminum, and steel;
The KURARAY POVAL LV series has low methanol content and can be used in cosmetics and other products with high health and environmental requirements;
The KURARAY POVAL L series has low alcoholysis and is completely soluble in water, making it an ideal protective colloid in PVC suspension polymerization.
